New
Zealand in the Vietnam War
New Zealand responded to a request for support under the SEATO treaty
agreement. In the early 1960's, NZ sent Army Engineers and Armoured Corps
personnel to Vietnam, and later they sent 161 Artillery Bty from Papakura Camp.
HQ staff were also established as additional support with the Australian Task
Force. In 1967, Victor Company (NZ Infantry) and NZ Medical teams
responded, as did the SAS.
