Iv been keeping up with this unit for some time. I was in it from 1966 at Fort Bragg till we moved to Vietnam in 1967. I recently found a old friends name in the Unit paper that we get. His name is Roger W. Timm from Kansas. I called him and talked for a few minutes. I hadn't seen or heard from him since April of 1968. He is doing well and is retired. I had thought of him many times in the last 3 or 4 years. We are getting older and I wanted to hear from him real bad for some reason. There is another person Im looking to talk to but cant locate him . His Name was Vance D Broome from Monroe N. C. I too am from NC but cant seem to locate him. Welcome home, fellow vets!!
I was with the 5th Bn, 42d field artillery, service battery at Bear Cat
and Camp Price(?) near Long Binh from
1968 to 1969. Does anyone know how long
the 5/42 lasted in Vietnam after 1969 and did they stay at Camp Price? Trying
to remember names to faces. Who was the
Service battery 1st shirt and the commander? Who was the ration driver at
Camp Price? All I know is he smoked a
pipe and stuttered, a very great guy
though. If any of these people or others read this message, email me. Looking to hear from anyone. If you know the names of these people I mentioned, let me know.

Message: First of all, my condolences goes out to Bob Donnan, I don't know Bob personally, but I know he has done a great job with this site along with other great Guys. I was in the 15th for about three months, from Jan.'71 to march'71. I was shot in Pleiku village in march '71 and was sent back to the USA the next day. I don't know what happened after I left Pleiku, I would like to know what happened to my friends that were with me, although I don't remember their names. If anyone remembers an occasion in March'71 where some GI's had an altercation with some Vietnamese civilians, one of the civilian guy's came out shooting and I was shot, I would like to know if there were anymore people were hurt that day.I had a girlfriend that was with me that day also, her name was Mai Li, that day was the last time I saw her. There is not a day goes by that I don't think about her and what might have happened to her. I pray that somehow she got to this country safe after the war.I just want her to be safe and and happy where ever she is. Larry Taylor[Brother T]

Fantastic web site. Brought back many memories. I served with 7/15 Arty, HQ Battery, 01/67 to 06/68. Made the trip to Nam on the Walker and spent all but the first few weeks at LZ Uplift. Of my 23 months in Nam I spent 4 at DakTo during the fight for firebase 6 in April 71 and would like to say that the muzzle blast of a 175 leaves more damage to a sandbag bunker than a B52 strike.
Also there's a brand new web site put up by swift boat vets from Nam that's a must see, check it out at www.swiftvets.com it's not big but informative.

Was it a very hostile area Camp Price was at and did it see much action. My father never talked much about it. Any
