 —Artillery Ears“ Ringing in your ears is VA compensable, especially with some hearing loss.    

PTSD INVESTIGATION:

 

 The Institue of Medicine ( IOM ) is reviewing screening assessments to determine severity and 

compensation rates. It means stricter guidelines for the future. ( DAV Mag 1/2-05 ). —Stressor Medals“ awarded are used to deter-

mine eligibility suggesti those who received them experienced more than the average Vet did: Purple Heart and Silver Star. While 

the Bronze Star is listed, many of those are awarded for service within a long time-frame and may not be applicable.

:

1615 Woodward St., Austin TX 78772-0001. On line: http://www.va.gov/EnvironAgents .  You don‘t have to prove exposure! 

Keep in mind that besides the listed ailments from exposure to Dioxin, many other conditions can be secondary-related to the 

ones listed!! ...and those are NOT published! File a claim for any condition that nay be related. In addition, any problem you had 

in the service including state-side, may be compensable.  The VA centers have —Patient Advocate“ for problems with claims.  

 

VA BENEFITS:

 

AO-Related Diabetes Type II ( late adult onset ) appears as our Vets age. A 160 blood-sugar count for two 

months in a row after fasting is considered diabetic. Lower counts may be a warning of things to come.  File a claim! A 10% or 

higher disability allows you one eye exam/pair of glasses per year. Only if dental prob‘s/work was done in the service or you‘re 

100% disabled, are you eligible for dental benefits. Retirement:

 Don‘t forget to take your DD-214 with you when signing up for 

Social Security.

 You could be credited up to $300 per quarter for your service years.
